Polyethylene glycol 400 and propylene glycol eye drops are one of the most popular artificial-tear formulations for dry, irritated eyes — a problem that is growing fast with screen use, air-conditioning and pollution. This guide explains what the two lubricants do, who benefits, how to use the drops, and how Biozia supplies the formulation as Vizcare Eye Drop.
Biozia manufactures this lubricant eye drop as:
| Brand | Composition | Packing |
|---|---|---|
| Vizcare Eye Drop | Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) 400 0.4% w/v + Propylene Glycol(PPG) 0.3% w/v | 10 ml |
Both ingredients are demulcents: they form a protective, moisture-retaining film over the surface of the eye. This stabilises the tear film, reduces friction during blinking and soothes the irritated surface. Combining the two lubricants gives longer-lasting comfort than a single agent.
Wash hands, tilt the head back, pull down the lower eyelid and instil 1–2 drops, then close the eye gently for a moment. Use as often as needed or as directed. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface. Contact lens wearers should check the label or ask their eye specialist before use. Discard the bottle within the period stated on the label after opening.
Temporary blurred vision, mild stinging or a sticky feeling are the most common effects. Stop use and consult a doctor if there is eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation, or if the condition worsens or lasts more than 72 hours. Wait until vision clears before driving.
Lubricant eye drops are a fast-moving, repeat-purchase category prescribed by ophthalmologists and recommended at chemist counters. Vizcare complements Biozia’s wider ophthalmic range, including the carboxymethyl cellulose drops Visiglow and Visiglow DS, so a franchise partner can cover the dry-eye segment from one supplier.

They are lubricant (artificial tear) eye drops used to relieve dryness, burning and irritation from dry eye, screen use and environmental exposure.
Usually 1–2 drops as needed. If you need them very frequently or symptoms persist, see an eye specialist.
Both are effective lubricants. PEG 400 + propylene glycol drops are thin and comfortable for frequent daytime use, while CMC drops (especially 1%) are thicker and can last longer. The choice depends on symptom severity and preference.
Yes. Vizcare is available for PCD franchise, and Biozia’s sterile ophthalmic line can manufacture lubricant eye drops under your own brand.
