Clauzia Suspension is a probiotic suspension containing Bacillus Clausii Spores 2 Billion per dose. Bacillus Clausii is a spore-forming, naturally occurring beneficial bacterium that is highly resistant to stomach acid and antibiotics, making it one of the most robust oral probiotics available.
Clauzia Suspension is widely recommended by doctors to restore healthy gut flora during and after antibiotic therapy, and to manage diarrhoea in both children and adults. The spore form ensures that the bacteria survive through the harsh stomach environment and reach the intestines alive and active.
This medicine is commonly used for:
Bacillus Clausii spores are indicated as adjunctive therapy in the restoration of intestinal microbial balance disrupted by antibiotic treatment, infectious diarrhoea, or altered intestinal microbiota. Clinical use includes antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, acute gastroenteritis, recurrent diarrhoeal illness, and dysbiosis-related gastrointestinal complaints. It may also be used as prophylaxis during antibiotic therapy to reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal side effects.
Clauzia Suspension introduces beneficial Bacillus Clausii spores into the gut. These spores are tough enough to survive stomach acid and only germinate into active bacteria inside the intestine. Once active, they help restore the balance of good bacteria, produce substances that inhibit harmful microorganisms, and support the gut's natural defences — reducing diarrhoea and improving digestive comfort.
Bacillus Clausii spores are polyresistant to multiple antibiotics, allowing colonisation of the intestinal tract even during concurrent antibiotic therapy. Upon reaching the small and large intestine, the spores vegetate into active bacterial cells that competitively exclude pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms through production of bacteriocin-like substances and competitive adhesion to intestinal epithelium. Bacillus Clausii also stimulates the innate immune response by upregulating secretory IgA production and modulating intestinal macrophage and dendritic cell activity, thereby enhancing mucosal barrier integrity.
Unlike most probiotics that are killed by antibiotics, Bacillus Clausii spores are naturally resistant to a wide range of antibiotics. This is why Clauzia Suspension can be taken during an antibiotic course — the spores simply wait out the antibiotic and then germinate into active bacteria in the gut.
Clauzia Suspension should be taken as directed by your doctor, usually between antibiotic doses rather than at the same time. Shake the vial well before use. Follow your doctor's instructions on how long to continue taking it.
Always follow the dosage and schedule advised by your doctor — this is general guidance only.
Clauzia Suspension is generally very well tolerated. Mild bloating or increased intestinal gas may occasionally occur as the gut flora readjusts. Serious side effects are very rare. Tell your doctor if any side effect is severe or persistent.
Probiotics don't work if you take them alongside antibiotics.
Most standard probiotics are killed by antibiotics, but Bacillus Clausii spores in Clauzia Suspension are antibiotic-resistant. They can be taken during antibiotic therapy — just space them a few hours apart from the antibiotic dose.
You only need probiotics after finishing antibiotics, not during the course.
Starting a spore-forming probiotic like Clauzia Suspension from the beginning of antibiotic therapy is more effective at preventing antibiotic-associated diarrhoea than waiting until the course is finished.
