Etoricoxib is often combined with a second agent for stronger relief: paracetamol for added pain control, or the muscle relaxant thiocolchicoside for pain with muscle spasm. This guide compares the two combinations, explains their uses and important safety limits, and shows how Biozia supplies them as Ziacox P Tablet and Ziacox-T4 Tablet.
Biozia manufactures both combinations:
| Brand | Composition | Packing |
|---|---|---|
| Ziacox P Tablet | Etoricoxib 60 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg | 10×10 Alu/Alu |
| Ziacox-T4 Tablet | Etoricoxib 60 mg + Thiocolchicoside 4 mg | 10×10 Alu/Alu |
Etoricoxib is a selective COX-2 inhibitor that reduces pain and inflammation with once-daily dosing. Adding paracetamol provides central pain relief without extra NSAID load. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant that acts on GABA-A and glycine receptors, easing painful muscle contracture in conditions like acute low back pain.
Both are usually taken as prescribed by the doctor, commonly once or twice daily, for a short course. Thiocolchicoside-containing products should not exceed the recommended daily dose (a maximum of 16 mg a day orally) or 7 days of treatment.
Common effects include indigestion, nausea, dizziness, swelling of the feet and raised blood pressure. Thiocolchicoside can cause diarrhoea and drowsiness, and rarely seizures in predisposed patients.
Etoricoxib combinations are increasingly prescribed by orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapy-led clinics. Offering Ziacox-P and Ziacox-T4 alongside the Ziacox 60/90/120 range lets a franchise partner cover plain, analgesic-boosted and muscle-relaxant etoricoxib therapy from one brand family.
