Visiglow Eye Drop contains Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) 0.5% w/v, a widely used and well-established ocular lubricant. CMC is a cellulose-derived polymer that closely resembles the mucin component of natural tears, making it an effective and gentle solution for relieving dry, irritated, or fatigued eyes.
Visiglow Eye Drop is ideal for everyday use by people experiencing mild to moderate dry eye symptoms, offering a soothing drop that helps maintain the eye's natural moisture without causing discomfort.
This medicine is commonly used for:
Indicated as a lubricant for the symptomatic management of mild to moderate dry eye disease (keratoconjunctivitis sicca) and ocular surface dryness. CMC 0.5% provides adequate viscosity for aqueous tear film supplementation and is suitable for patients with aqueous-deficient dry eye or environmentally triggered dryness.
Carboxymethyl Cellulose forms a thin, stable protective film over the surface of the eye, just as natural tears do. This film keeps the eye surface moist, reduces friction between the eyelid and the eye, and washes away minor irritants — bringing quick relief from the uncomfortable symptoms of dry eyes.
Carboxymethyl Cellulose sodium (CMC) is a cellulose ether polymer that acts as a viscoelastic agent on the ocular surface. It adsorbs to the corneal and conjunctival epithelial surface glycocalyx, supplementing the mucous layer of the tear film. Its hygroscopic properties allow it to retain water on the ocular surface, extending tear film breakup time and reducing symptoms of dryness. CMC 0.5% provides balanced viscosity — sufficient for lubrication without causing significant blurring.
Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) is derived from natural cellulose — the same material found in plant cell walls. Its ability to retain water and form a stable film has made it one of the most widely used ingredients in artificial tear formulations worldwide for over 30 years.
Instil Visiglow Eye Drop into the affected eye(s) as directed by your doctor or as needed for symptomatic relief. Tilt your head back, gently pull the lower eyelid down, and apply the drop. Blink gently after instillation to distribute the drop evenly.
Always follow the dosage and schedule advised by your doctor — this is general guidance only.
Visiglow Eye Drop is very well tolerated. Transient mild blurring immediately after instillation is common but resolves within moments. Rarely, mild stinging or temporary redness may occur. Tell your doctor if any side effect is severe or persistent.
If your eyes don't feel very dry, you don't need lubricating drops.
Many people with early or moderate dry eye disease experience symptoms like mild irritation, eye fatigue, or blurry vision rather than intense dryness. Lubricating drops can relieve these symptoms and protect the ocular surface before the condition worsens.
Lubricating eye drops only work for serious dry eye conditions.
Drops like Visiglow are designed for a wide range of users — from mild environmental irritation to chronic dry eye. They are safe for everyday use and provide relief regardless of the severity.
